Village Bernovo

Sights
Bernovo is an ancient village, known since the 16th century, the ancestral home of the Wulf family. It is inextricably linked with the name of the poet A.S. Pushkin. Here, Alexander Sergeevich wrote his poems: "Flower," "Upas Tree," "Novel in Letters," "Winter Morning," and parts of "Eugene Onegin."
The village is part of the "Pushkin Ring of the Upper Volga." Every first Sunday in June, the traditional Pushkin Poetry Festival is held.
The main attraction is the estate of the noble Wulf family, which has housed the A.S. Pushkin Museum since 1971. A monument to the poet stands near the museum building.
The Church of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a parish Orthodox church. It is part of the Torzhok Deanery of the Tver Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. Buried near the church walls are members of the Wulf and Velyashev families, as well as the owners of the surrounding estates.

How to get there
The village is located on the banks of the Tma River, in the northern part of the district, near the border with the Torzhok Municipal District. The distance (by road) to the town of Staritsa is 52 km, from Tver - 110 km, and from Torzhok - 60 km.

Museums
The A.S. Pushkin Museum is:
A two-story stone mansion with columns along the facade and a mezzanine is a unique monument to the estate culture of Russia during the Classical era.
A large park.
The park contains preserved 18th-century plantings. At the center of the park is a round pond, surrounded by symmetrical alleys and picturesque hills with interesting names: "Zverinets" and "Parnassus."
12 exhibition halls.
The first floor houses a literary exhibition that recounts Pushkin's stay at the Wolfe family estates in Staritsa, Pavlovskoye and Malinniki, as well as at the Kurovo-Pokrovskoye (Panafidin) estate from 1828 to 1833.
The second-floor halls house an exhibition entitled "Pushkin in Bernovo," which recreates the furnishings of a nobleman's estate from the first half of the 19th century. The original layout has also been preserved.
Recreated interiors of I.P. Wolfe's study, living room, and dining room. The exhibition features over 200 exhibits, including 18th- and 19th-century books, furniture, painted portraits, and household items from the first half of the 19th century.
